Saate 6 Sobh (فیلم ساعت ۶ صبح) is an Iranian film directed and written by Mehran Modiri, released in 2024. This marks Modiri’s second feature-length directorial venture, showcasing his departure from comedy to explore a dramatic narrative.
The story revolves around a young woman (portrayed by Samira Hassanpour) who is scheduled to fly to Canada at 6 a.m. for further studies. On the eve of her departure, friends invite her to a farewell party. During the gathering, police raid the premises, arresting attendees while she hides, finding herself trapped in the locked house. She contacts her brother (played by Mehrdad Sedighian) for assistance, leading to a series of challenges as they strive to reach the airport. Ultimately, they miss the flight as the clock strikes 6.
The film features performances by Modiri himself, alongside Hassanpour and Sedighian. “Sā’at 6 Sobh” was released in Iranian cinemas on July 24, 2024, reflecting Modiri’s venture into a new genre, offering audiences a fresh perspective on his storytelling capabilities.
