Hava Maryam Ayesha is a Iranian film in the genre of social drama and a joint production of Iran and Afghanistan and directed by “Sahra Karimi”. The film represented Afghanistan at the 92nd Academy Awards and was nominated for Best Picture at the Venice Film Festival. Hava Maryam Ayesha (فیلم حوا، مریم، عایشه) tells the story of three Afghan women who live in Kabul with different family and cultural backgrounds and are facing great difficulties. “Eve” is a widow and pregnant woman who lives with her husband’s parents but no one cares and she can only grieve with the baby in her womb.
