Babaei Ghahreman” (کارتون ببعی قهرمان) is a 3D Iranian animated film produced by Mohammad Mehdi Mashkouri and directed by Hossein Safarzadegan and Meysam Hosseini. The screenplay, written by Meghdad Akhavan, is based on the popular 2D animated series “Babaei and Baboo,” which aired on Pooya TV from 2018 to 2021.

The film was first screened at the 42nd Fajr International Film Festival and later released in Iranian cinemas on September 25, 2024.

The story follows Babaei, a young and imaginative lamb who dreams of flying like a bird. Inspired by magazines about the heroic owl, Babaei embarks on a journey to achieve his dream, learning valuable lessons about determination, teamwork, and perseverance along the way.

The film received positive reviews for its vibrant visuals and engaging musical elements, resonating well with its young audience. It achieved significant commercial success, grossing over 630 billion rials (approximately $15 million), making it the highest-grossing animated film in Iranian cinema history.

Additionally, “Babaei Ghahreman” won the Golden Butterfly Award for Best Animation at the 36th International Film Festival for Children and Youth.
